The earliest records begin before the Revolution and include the Colonial Court Records, Supreme Judicial Court records, writs of attachment and execution, criminal complaints, jail construction and prisoner lists. Nolde was able to remain in Germany during the Nazi regime, but over one thousand of his works were confiscated. Francis published two children’s books: A Book of Cheerful Cats and Other Animated Animals (1892) and The Joyous Aztecs (1929). Among the materials documenting the show’s creation are principal costumes, set designs, props, production paperwork, continuity photos, and 77 hours of “dailies” — all the printed takes from the filming.

Launched in 1999 by London taxi driver Jason Brown, the CAB Gallery was a project co-curated by gallerist Paul Stolper that invited emerging and established artists to create site-specific works based in and on a black cab, using the space normally devoted to advertising. This exhibition featured the works from this gift. Detailed studies of streets and shops in Whistler's Chelsea neighborhood on view include "Chelsea Shops," one of the earliest and greatest of Whistler's many representations of building facades, and "Nocturne: Silver and Opal-Chelsea," the last, smallest and one of the greatest nocturnes in oil that Whistler ever painted.
